Dryers account for 6 percent of residential electricity consumption and by changing a few habits in the laundry room, you can save some energy.
- Whenever possible, use a clothes line or a drying rack to air dry clothes.
- Dry towels and heavier cottons separately from light-weight items. Keep in mind that overstuffing dryer will create longer drying cycles and waste energy.
