Most glass recycled in Larimer County through the single stream programs provided by your waste disposal company ends up crushed. The crushed glass will be used as alternative daily cover at the landfill or as drainage aggregate for landfill pipes. The crushed glass from the sorting facility includes too many rocks, ceramics, and other debris to be recycled into new glass bottles.
So although much of it is diverted from the landfill and reused, it is not being recycled.

Please DO NOT bring contaminants such as: broken glass, ceramics, bake-ware, Pyrex, drinking glasses, window glass, mirrors, light bulbs, fish tanks or non-glass containers to the recycling drop off locations.
